War on Deatholme

I just finished the War on Deatholme quest. It wasn’t too difficult, just kind of annoying because some of the Eye of Dar’Kahn guys are hard to see on a small monitor. During this quest my Lithellyn jumped to a level 20 and her pet brat is still a 19.

It’s kind of annoying. My son is almost next to me playing Urban Terror on the Mac and screaming at the guys. It’s frustrating. Why do kids get so insane when playing video games? I try to tell him to not be so hyper and sometimes I have even unplugged the computer and say it’s just a game. In fact, his brother deleted the little guy’s Death Knight last night and there was a big fuss. It was incredibly annoying to hear them fight about it.

With the War on Deatholme quest all I received was a pat on the back, experience with Tranquillen, 25 silver and 1950 experience points. Oooh ahh. I signed up for the next quest Dar’Khan’s Lieutenants that will give me better leggings than I have now.

How did you fair in the War on Deatholme? Did you get any decent goodies along the way?

Assault on Zeb’Nowa Quest

It’s so terrible of me to do that. I haven’t been able to play because my job has me so busy but I’m trying. I’m going to try and at least be here 2 times per week. Oh, and not to mention that my son has decided that he wants a Death Knight on my account so I never get to play anymore. Of course he refuses to level his own account to 55 so he can get a Death Knight.

I’ve leveled up my Troll Purringlion to I think 65. She’s walking around the Outlands killing demons and beasts and making slow progress given the time I get to play.

Today I’m playing with my Blood Elf Lithellyn who lives on Bladefist. I think she’s the one with the video on here. She’s still a 19 because I’ve ignored her for so long, but I hope to bring her to the Oulands soon. I really don’t want to get her ride because I think it’s some kind of an ugly ostrich and I want a horse. Dang it.

I’m fighting the Shadowpine Trolls right now while I’m on the Assualt on Zeb’Nowa. I don’t have any hints for this quest as I haven’t picked up anything exciting and I keep getting interrupted. According to the Quest Log I can get 11 silver and a choice of several green bracers:

Sentry Bracers: Mail, 72 Armor, +2 Strength, +2 Stamina
Supple Cotton Bracer: Leather, 14 Armor, +1 Stamina, +1 Intellect
Farstrider’s Bracer: Leather 33 Armor, +3 Agility, +2 Stamina

I’d love to know if you find anything exciting here if I don’t so please respond. If I find something I’ll post as well.

World of Warcraft on an Eee PC NetBook

So I thought I would do a crazy thing and install ROBLOX on my Eee PC. It works okay, although there are some places that build rather slowly. If that worked, then why not put it WoW on it? So I tried it. I did get the information that my machine’s hardware wasn’t compatible, but I continued the install anyway.

And it works.

Yes, the screen is only 9 inches, but it does kind of scroll when you have to access something at the bottom. I think what I might do is let my son play with it as long as it doesn’t overheat running WoW (which it might.) Who knows? The machine was a whopping $267.00 at Best Buy–a place I will never go to again to buy hardware. They didn’t care to tell me about the restocking fee and the $267 was their closeout price, which seemed really high, but then again they know they’re the only ones in these backwoods who carry it and I’m such an impulse buyer that I tried it.

I hate the keyboard and mouse. If I thought the keyboard was okay, I would install Ubuntu on it and be done with it, but I can’t so here it sits. I could take it back but they will charge me a restocking fee of about $50.00. Did I waste my money? I don’t know. If I can get it to play WoW and ROBLOX so my son can use it while I’m trying to work then it will be worth the cost and I will just bring it with me to blog until I get the keyboard fixed on my MacBook Pro. First, I have to get my gaming machine built and then I’ll fix the MacBook Pro.

I can’t recommend putting it on the Eee PC or any NetBook for that matter because it might run too hot. I really don’t know yet. I can tell you that it works, which is really cool, and that I might even just put some GameBoy games and other non Internet games on it for road trips. My son would be so happy.

If you see me on the Eee PC don’t try to battle me. I’ll be the one staying out of the way because for my hands it’s just too hard. When he plays though, the keys will be just perfect. It will work much better with an external mouse and I have one that he can use.

Get ready for a very happy kid!

Just Created a Death Knight on Emerald Dream for MOW

I just had to create a Death Knight on Emerald Dream for Moms of WoW. I named her momsofwow. I know, that’s kind of tacky, but I need consistency in what I do because I don’t have any. She’s a Blood Elf and rather cool. Right now she is only a 55 because I just created her right before I started this message. I guess I will spend my WoW hour today (wour?) leveling her up.

As soon as I get the character moving and into Durator I will create a guild somewhere–probably in Orgrimmar. It will be called Moms of Wow and you can join. It will be on the Horde side. If someone wants to create a similar one for the Alliance that would be great. Then we call all get together for coffee and people will wonder what all these Horde and Alliance people are doing together and being nice to each other.

I would love to hear what you think a good zone would be to have fun Moms of Wow meetings at with this character. Maybe we could fly there every week and have some fun. It would have to be a place where low level people can go as well and some place neutral so we’re not always fighting off unnecessary characters.

What I would give for a server that is like Second Life where we could build a nice place to have fun. Maybe that’s an idea. I do own land in Second Life. Maybe we could all get together there instead of on WoW and that way Alliance and Horde can actually chat together. I’ll think about it. For those who don’t know, Second Life is free. If you do not have an account, click on this link and you will be brought to my place and offered to create an account.

Perhaps we can all create some skins and clothes that would look like our characters. We obviously cannot use the exact same ones from Warcraft, but maybe they can come close.

Just Bought Wrath of the Lich King

Now that my Troll is a 59 I finally bought Wrath of the Lich King. I just love having a horse to ride–even if it is dead and skeletal. The movement is so much smoother than that crappy raptor I have with my troll.

What I will miss, however, is my cat. Since I’m not a hunter the closest I will get to having anything like a pet is a zombie-at least that is what my son says. So I will have this gross dead thing following me around and attacking things for me. Is that ok? I guess so.

I do love starting off with armor that is both strong and enchanted. It is such a drag to have to go find it everywhere. Also, getting gold is so much easier right now. I know that once I go back down to the regular lands of WoW to help my son that making money will be harder, but let’s hope I can do it with ease.

My son is a bit angry though. He wanted Lich King for Christmas but he can’t even use it because he doesn’t have a Level 55 yet. So, I will tell him that once he makes it to Level 55 that I will get him Lich King. Perhaps this will entice him to take it a bit more seriously and do his quests. Or, it will make him want me to do the quests for him. NOT!

Training My First Pet as Lithellyn

After finally collecting all the quests and leveling up enough to train a new pet I caught my first one on video. I know it isn’t a great step, but it’s the first step in my Beast Master Blood Elf. It’s going to be a very long journey taking on this task, but I think I can handle collecting elite and rare pets for my character. Read more »

Catching Humar the Pridelord

Being a hunter is fun because we can catch rare animals and show them off. A friend told me that Humar the Pridelord was around one day so I went off to tame him. He wasn’t hard at all, well I was also a level 40-somthing and he was only a 15. At the time I had a boar who leveled up with me since 14. I thought I would miss him. I even almost shed a tear when I put him in the stable but now he’s like a bunch of virtual dots floating away.

I named Humar Meow. He didn’t keep the name they gave him originally. He doesn’t seem to have any special abilities other than no one else has him where I am. He’s black with long pretty saber-like teeth and doesn’t even really seem to have a personality like my pig did. Sure, I love having him around but I think I’m going to stable him soon and get another one. Maybe I’ll find them all! I don’t want to do it with my Troll though because I want a sexy hunter to have all those pets and then wait for the day Blizzard let’s me have more than one and walk around like a sexy pet master. LOL I’m just kidding.

Humar the Pridelord aka Meow

I might hang around and try to get Humar with my Blood Elf next since he is so low level and she’s just starting out. I’ll make a movie with I tame him as well as the others. I wonder how many pets they will let me stable? It looks like only 4 or 5. I hope it’s more or I will need to do this with a bunch of different hunters. That won’t be too terribly bad, just a pain to level up all of them. I want the Devilsaur.

Does anyone else have any elite pets?

So You’ve Been Called a Noob

One of the most overused words of today is noob. It used to be that a noob was someone who was new to a game and didn’t know the way around. Today that is a newbie. A noob is now someone who is new and refuses to understand the rules of the game when told or read the documentation to learn the rules. Not many people know this. In fact, when I told someone in the Barrens that Obama is too noob to be president they called me a racist. Huh? Hardly. I’d take anyone who was an experienced Libertarian no matter what color, gender, or religion thank you very much.

So when is it okay to call someone a noob? Actually, you can say whatever you want because we live in a free world and if Blizzard doesn’t like the word you say they’re going to censor it. Is it okay to cal someone a noob? Sure, but if you’re doing it in game and doing it because someone asks a question or does something dumb then you’ve lowered you IQ about 100 points. It’s a very insecure and childish word. It’s something my kids and I joke around about but never call people in the game because really only noobs call each other noobs because they really just sound like boobs (dumb people not the other kind. get your mind out of the gutter will ya?)

It’s another WoW Update Today

I’m sitting here waiting for the next version of WoW to pop up so I can play for a bit. These updates sometimes take so long and they can be very misleading. I remember one very large update I had to open a few ports and it didn’t even tell me until it sat there for an hour or two and then when I opened the port it took another hour to tell me the next port number. Needless to say, I was very frustrated especially since my connection isn’t slow at all.

I guess it’s a good thing the updates are regular. I’ve seen so many other games just fail because of security issues and lack of updates. Then again, I know of another place that doesn’t seem to test their updates before they’re done and it turns into a big mess. Kind of like a Microsoft product. haha

O M G it just gave me an error. I knew it had taken too short of a time for that update. Well, I’ll be updating for a bit. I’m glad I didn’t spend too much time on this so far.

Level 10 – Lithellyn the Blood Elf

I would love to show you my new Blood Elf named Lithellyn that I use to play with my son but she hasn’t hit Wow Armory yet I guess. Tonight she just hit level 10 as I finished off about 3 or 4 quests. Unfortunately, I kind of went out of order with her because I was helping my son with some of his quests and he doesn’t like to do them in order. I have yet to find my hunting staff. I gave her a level 1 Aspect of the Hawk for the talent point.

Since she is a hunter the obvious choice for professions are skinning and leatherworking. Right now she is only an 8 at leatherworking but that will increase soon. I also gave her First Aid and Fishing. Since I’ll have a pet I’ll need to keep both him and I fed so fishing might work out well.

I’m still notused to the Blood Elf land. I played a troll for so long that the area just became easy to navigate. The castles here are just a pain to remember which turn goes where.

I suppose I should stop my journey now because even though my son went on to level 14 with his Blood Elf he begged me to stop at 10. I think he likes the idea that his guy is a bit stronger than mine. I’ll just take it easy and try to finish off the quests I have and go train my pet I guess. I think I might take the movies created on my machine and put them on YouTube and let you see the progress. It isn’t too hard to do it seems. On my Mac I just hit the left bracket to start and stop the movie. This should be really cool. Then you can look and see what I dork I can be when I’m off fighting.

Check this movie out. It is my first attempt at creating one. It’s too small. Any Mac users want to give me a few clues here? I used the WoW interface to start and stop the movie then compress it and then I imported it into iMovie to put the caption of the website.
